Reference Architecture for Enterprise Retail AI
Establishes the architect-tier blueprint for AI across a retail enterprise: a layered commerce platform with shared planes for catalog retrieval, inference, observability, and human review that scales from one storefront workflow to the whole organization. Sets the structural decisions operator-tier deployments depend on.
- From Point Solutions to a Shared Commerce AI Platform
- Control Plane, Data Plane, Inference Plane
- The Enterprise Model and Prompt Lifecycle
Security, Privacy, and Data Boundaries at Commerce Scale
Designs the security and privacy posture for AI that touches customer PII, payment context, and partner data across storefront, support, and supply-chain surfaces. Covers prompt injection from hostile content, data-residency and consent boundaries, and tenant and partner isolation.
- Prompt Injection From Untrusted Commerce Content
- PII Minimization, Consent, and Data Residency
- Tenant, Customer, and Partner Isolation
Regulatory-Grade Governance and Compliance
Builds the governance machinery a retail enterprise needs to satisfy regulators, auditors, and platform partners across pricing, advertising, accessibility, and consumer-protection regimes. Covers explainability of automated decisions, fairness in personalization and pricing, and audit-ready evidence.
- Mapping AI Surfaces to Regulatory Regimes
- Explainability and Recourse for Automated Decisions
- Fairness in Pricing, Ranking, and Personalization
Brownfield Integration and Legacy Modernization
Designs AI into the messy reality of established retail: aging ERP and order-management systems, fragmented product data across channels, mid-migration replatforming, and partner integrations you do not control. Covers strangler-pattern adoption, data reconciliation, and integrating without a rewrite.
- AI on Top of Legacy ERP, OMS, and POS
- Reconciling Fragmented Product and Inventory Data
- Strangler Pattern and Anti-Corruption Layers
Reliability, Cost, and Scale for Peak Commerce
Engineers AI systems to survive Black Friday traffic, fail gracefully, and stay economically sane at enterprise volume. Covers degradation and fallback design, capacity and cost control, observability and incident response, and SLOs for AI surfaces that touch revenue.
- Graceful Degradation and Deterministic Fallbacks
- Inference Cost and Capacity at Scale
- SLOs, Observability, and Incident Response for AI
Each module ends with a checkpoint; the final exam unlocks once every checkpoint is passed.
A credential employers can verify in seconds.
Pass the coursework and the 70% server-graded final exam and you earn a certificate with a unique serial and a public verification page — tamper-evident and confirmable by anyone, with no account required.
See how verification worksIs the credential verifiable by employers?
Yes. Every certificate has a unique serial and a public verification page at digitalnetworks.ai/verify — no login required. Anyone can confirm it's authentic and unaltered.
What happens if I don't pass an exam?
Each module checkpoint allows up to 3 attempts. The final exam includes one attempt; additional retakes are $50 each. You keep full access to the coursework while you prepare, and the passing score is 70%.
Do I keep access after I finish?
