Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser to remember information between page loads and visits. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, can serve the same purpose, and we use one to remember your cookie choice.

We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. We set only first-party cookies (created by digitalnetworks.ai itself) and we do not use third-party advertising networks, cross-site trackers, or social media pixels on this site. The only cookies we set are the two described below.

Every cookie we set is first-party and strictly necessary, and all of them relate to signing in. If you only browse the public site, we set no cookies.

Strictly necessary: set when you sign in. Required for accounts, the learner portal, and the admin area to work.

• dn_user (served as __Host-dn_user in production): a signed, HttpOnly session cookie that keeps you logged in to your account. First-party. Expires on a server-enforced schedule and is cleared when you sign out. It is never used to track you across the web.
• dn_2fa (served as __Host-dn_2fa in production): a short-lived cookie used only while you complete a two-factor sign-in. First-party. Cleared as soon as the sign-in finishes.
• dn_admin: the equivalent session cookie for our internal admin area. First-party, staff only.

We set no analytics cookie and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookie. We previously set a consent cookie (dn_consent) and an analytics visitor ID (dn_vid); both have been retired, and the site now actively deletes them from your browser if you still have them.

A consent notice exists so you can refuse non-essential storage. We do not use any, so there is nothing to refuse and no banner to dismiss.

• We set no analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookie.
• Our analytics are cookieless: the per-visit ID they use lives only in your browser tab's memory and is discarded when you close the tab.
• The only cookies we set are the strictly necessary sign-in cookies listed above, which are exempt from consent because the service you asked for cannot work without them.

If we ever introduce a cookie or any other storage that is not strictly necessary, we will list it here and ask for your consent before setting it.

Our analytics are first-party, cookieless, and privacy-minded. We do not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics or advertising service, and the data stays in our own database.

For each page you view we record: a randomly generated per-visit ID, the page path, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. The per-visit ID is created in your browser tab's memory when the page loads and is never written to a cookie, to local storage, or anywhere else on your device — close the tab and it is gone, so we cannot connect today's visit to your next one. To keep records from being linked to a named individual, we collapse the booking ID in URLs (for example, /join/[id]) and strip query strings from referrer URLs before storing anything.

We use this only to understand which pages are useful and how the site is performing in aggregate. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other websites, we do not fingerprint your device, and we do not sell or share this data.

Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage. Look in your browser's privacy or site-data settings, or use its help to find the option.

Blocking cookies will not stop you from browsing the site, and it will not affect our analytics, which set nothing on your device either way. It will, however, prevent you from staying signed in: the session cookie is what keeps your account, coursework, and certificates available from one page to the next.

Because we set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies and do not sell or share personal data for advertising, there are no third-party trackers on this site to opt out of. Our analytics are first-party and cookieless.

If we ever add a new cookie or a new category, we will update this policy, list the cookie here, and ask for your consent before setting anything that is not strictly necessary.
